Loveland police Officer Garret Osilka who was shot last week during a routine traffic stop is still recovering and a fund has been set up to donate to his recovery effort.

From the City of Loveland:

The Loveland Lodge 52 Fraternal Order of Police would like to thank our community for the response of donations, cards, flowers, prayers and well wishes for our brother, Officer Garret Osilka. Officer Osilka was shot and seriously injured during a traffic stop this past Sunday night. This overwhelming show of support is why we, as Loveland Police Officers, are honored and proud to serve and protect the citizens of Loveland and Larimer County!

As you can imagine, questions began right away on how they could help the Osilka family so a Benevolent Fund was set by the Lodge 52 FOP. The money collected into that fund is used to assist officers who are hurt or killed in the line of duty and their families, who might need assistance as a result of their spouses incident.

If you'd like to help, please stop by any of the twenty-two Northstar Bank of Colorado locations or you can send a check to the Loveland Lodge 52 FOP Benevolent Fund - P.O. Box 2292, Loveland, CO 80539.  For more information please click the link below for a free ride over to the City of Loveland website and if you would like to sign the card we have for Officer Osilka please click here.
