If you thought the Spiderman movie remakes were getting out of control, think again-- Batman is the only superhero to have had seven different actors encapsulate the persona of the Caped Crusader.  This includes Adam West (Holy smokes, Batman!), Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, and George Clooney.

The most recent Batman, Christian Bale, was originally thought to be an unfavorable choice, but Christopher Nolan turned the franchise from campy to creepy, injecting a surge of darkness necessary to portray a more serious film adaptation.  The trilogy of films received favorable reviews and many (including myself) now consider Christian Bale one of the best Batmen of all time.

The announcement of Ben Affleck's casting in the new Batman v Superman film, of course, stirred controversy amongst more die-hard fans.  In the new trailer recently released at Comic-Con, audiences see Affleck as Batman for the first time and are able to make their beginning judgments against his portrayal.

Despite the new trailer, as a Batman fan I still prefer Christian Bale in Christopher Nolan's adaptation of dark, thrilling Dark Knight films.  Who can beat lines like, "He's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now"?

Goldberg, on the other hand, thinks Ben Affleck will use his leftover emotion from his breakup with J-Lo to fuel his inner anger and channel the best Batman ever.
