Having someone break into your home is never fun, nor does it fail to leave you with chills. However, this particular break-in is a different kind of creepy (and more furry).

At around 4:45 a.m. on Sunday, first responders responded to a report of a bear in the living room of a second floor apartment.

According to Eagle River Fire Protection District via Facebook, firefighters and Eagle County Sheriff's deputies were able to chase away the small bear who had been rummaging through the tenant's refrigerator.

The resident locked himself in his bedroom until the bear safely vacated the apartment building.

As the bear runs out the door and down the hallway in the video, one firefighter can be heard saying, "Let's hope mom's not around!" Whew, good point. Luckily it doesn't sound like mom was around, though! (Not inside, at least.)

This incident poses as a reminder to always lock your windows and doors, and secure garbage and pet food bins as to not attract any bears.

"Remember, a fed bear is a dead bear," Eagle River Fire Protection District warned. (Yikes!)

This is by no means the first (and most likely not the last) time a bear has broken into a Colorado home. Back in March of this year, a bear was reported wandering into an Estes Park home. The resident was greeted by the bear after walking out of the bathroom late one night.
