El Chapo was finally convicted on Tuesday-- Joaquín Guzmán has escaped from two maximum security prisons in Mexico, but U.S. authorities have finally managed to convict him on drug trafficking charges and he is scheduled to hear his sentence in court this Friday.

Many have speculated where El Chapo, the notorious drug kingpin, will be sent, but it looks like all signs point to Colorado.

Colorado is home to a super-maximum security prison that is referred to as the 'Alcatraz of the Rockies', and houses some truly vicious individuals. According to USA Today, if Guzmán is sent to the prison in Florence, Colorado, he'll join "Unabomber Ted Kaczynski, Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, Sept. 11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui and Oklahoma City bombing accomplice Terry Nichols." Yikes.

According to Reuters, "no one has broken out of Administrative Maximum Facility (ADX) in Florence, Colorado, since it opened in 1994 to house the most dangerous inmates in the U.S. prison system", so El Chapo should be completely contained in our home state.

Details on where Guzmán will eventually be held will be decided this week, but until then, we can assume that ADX will be his new home...and El Chapo may be coming to Colorado.
