City of Greeley Presenting Information on the Impact the High Park Fire Could Have on It’s Water Supply
The Greeley City Council will hear a report at 5 p.m. today, June 12 regarding the current and possible impacts of the High Park Fire on Greeley’s water supply. The presentation will cover the challenges to Greeley’s water supply and the actions the City is currently taking and will take in the future to ensure that the community’s water resources are safe for residents and other water customers.
New Evacuations Ordered for Entire Pingree Park Road Area Residents, High Park Fire Is 5 Percent Contained
The High Park Fire is 5% contained, but 25 new evacuation orders were sent at 12:38 p.m. Evacuation orders have been issued for the entire Pingree Park Road area, to include Hourglass and Comanche Reservoirs, east on the Buckhorn Road up to and including Pennock Pass, northeast to the intersection of Stove Prairie Road and Highway 14, and west to the intersection of Highway 14 and Pingree Park Roa
Larimer County Bans Fireworks in Western Part of the County
The Board of Larimer County Commissioners approved a ban on the sale and use of fireworks and public fireworks displays for unincorporated western Larimer County (north to south), effective Saturday, June 16, 2012 when former restrictions are set to expire.
Open Fires are already restricted through September 30, 2012.
Fort Collins Thrift Store, Other Organizations Offer Clothing and Household Items to Those Affected by the High Park Fire
So many kind folks are reaching out to help our neighbors. Second Chance Thrift and Second Chance Veterans Charity are opening their doors to those that have been affected by the High Park Fire. They have an abundance of clothing and household items that they are willing to donate to those displaced by the fire.

Many people are taking pictures of the High Park Fire burning just 15 miles west of Fort Collins and growing. As of Monday afternoon the fire has moved into Lory State Park. We found Istagram picture of the High Park Fire.
Section of the Poudre Trail to be Closed Starting Wednesday in Windsor
Some work will be done in Windsor this week that will cause part of the Poudre Trail to be closed for about a week. A section of the Poudre River Trail, one mile east of State Highway 257 will be closed due to the Town of Windsor sewer interceptor project. The closure will occur from Wednesday, June 13th through Tuesday, June 26th.
High Park Fire Grows to 14,000 Acres, Officials Issue Health Advisory for Fort Collins and Beyond
The High Park Fire is burning 15 miles west of Fort Collins estimated to be at 14,000 acres and growing with 0% containment. Officials have issued a health advisory for Fort Collins and the Front Range due to the heavy smoke.
Stuart Hole Fire 95 Percent Contained, Full Containment Expected Thursday Evening
Firefighters are getting the upper hand on the fire burning northwest of Fort Collins, and some rain in the area overnight helped a lot. The Stuart Hole Fire is now estimated at 95% containment with full containment expected by Thursday evening. Crews will continue working on mop-up operations and repair work today. About 23 firefighters will continue working the fire today.
Stuart Hole Fire 80 Percent Contained as of Wednesday Afternoon
We received some encouraging news this afternoon on the fire burning northwest of Fort Collins. Firefighters experienced another good day fighting the Stuart Hole Fire Wednesday and good progress was made with containment. Containment of the 227 acre fire is now reported at 80 percent. Some resources were released from the fire today. The current cost estimate for fighting the fire is $324,000.
Stuart Hole Fire Caused by Lightning, 45 Percent Contained With Evacuations to be Lifted
The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office says the cause of the Stuart Hole Fire has been determined to be lightning. The fire is now estimated to be about 227 acres with 45% containment. No additional structures have been reported damaged other than the two to three out buildings previously reported. No injuries have been reported and the evacuations remain in place.
Stuart Hole Fire Burning Northwest of Fort Collins, Some Evacuations Ordered
The Stuart Hole Fire is burning approximately 40 miles northwest of Fort Collins on private land in a sparsely populated area. The size of the fire is currently estimated at about 200 acres. Approximately 100 firefighters are expected to be working the fire by this evening. Some evacuations have been ordered and at least one structure has been burned, while others are threatened as the fire grows
Major Traffic Delays Expected Along North Taft Hill Road in Fort Collins Starting Monday
Starting tomorrow morning, Monday June 4, 2012 at 7 a.m. through Thursday, June 7, 2012, at 6p.m., there will be major traffic delays on Taft Hill Road between CR 48 (Vine Dr) and CR 54G (Old Hwy 287)while Larimer County road crews replace an irrigation culvert pipe.
