The 1st severe weather of the spring hit Northern Colorado yesterday.  A tornado was spotted near Platteville around 3:30 yesterday afternoon. According to the 24/7 Weather Team, Three tornadoes were spotted in Washington County and one touched down in Phillips County.

Severe thunderstorm warnings were reported all throughout the evening in Larimer and Weld County with heavy rain, hail, and wind.

Wind gusts of 68 MPH were reported at the Greeley-Weld County Airport and heavy hail was reported all along the Front Range.   According to the Greeley Tribune, the hail damaged cars & crops, but the tornado near Platteville didn’t do any real damage. Three inches of hail fell in Washington County and they even had to call out the snow plows.

Today the forecast is for windy, mostly cloudy and a chance of showers.
