While appearing at a panel for Airbnb on Saturday, November 19, Ashton Kutcher revealed he spent time living in Airbnb homes after he split from his ex-wife Demi Moore in 2011.

The actor recounted to Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky how, when he was newly single, he sought refuge from the publicity surrounding his high-profile split by traveling to Europe. While there, he said, he was comforted by the "shocking" hospitality provided to him by his Airbnb host.

"I went to Europe and I flew in and got in in the middle of the night," Kutcher recalled, per E! News reports. "I arrived at the Airbnb at 2 a.m. The person had left me dinner and a glass of wine."

"It was…the magic and the love that I needed in that moment," he continued of his experience using the home rental service. "I was shocked that someone would care that much about a total stranger."

Kutcher has long been an advocate for Airbnb's service. In 2011, he became an investor in the company, according to Forbes.
