A new survey shows how people perceive how smartphones are affecting our relationships. But does the official research support this? In a new survey by Your Tango, when asked, 75% of women in long-term relationships state that smartphones are interfering in their relationships. 25% of those women even admit that they are just as guilty as their partner when it comes to texting during important conversations.

In a study by Academia.edu, on the effects of smart phones on social interaction came to the conclusion that, "As far as smartphones are revolutionizing the mode of communication and enhancing the levels of interaction between remote and urban people, they are alienating and limiting people interactions."

Many marriage counselors are also warning that too much smart phone usage can even damage your relationship. In an article on ydr.com, where Eva Ciesielski, a licensed marriage and family therapist, of Psychological Associates of Pa. said, the results of excessive usage of smartphones resembles that of emotional affairs.
