I had the most disgusting thing happen to me just outside of the radio station early Thursday evening in Windsor.

I was on my way back to the station from an event in the park when outside the station on 6th Street, at around 7:50 p.m., I passed 3 teenage boys on foot. Behind me I heard 6 words (of many) that no woman should ever hear from anyone in an unwanted manner as such: "Can I have a bl*w job?"

Still traumatized from the days I'd hear rude comments on the street when I lived in Orlando, Florida, during my college years, I ignored them.

But then they said it again.

"Hey, will you give me a bl*w job?"

Okay, I had to say something now.

"F*** YOU!" I yelled, my tiny voice booming.

They said some remark like, "yes please," and I stormed off. Looking back, I should have just called the cops right then and there, taken a picture, or something. After fuming over the incident for a few minutes in the studio, I hopped in my car in an attempt to locate them so I could take a picture and file a police report, but had no luck. They'd disappeared, and I hadn't really taken a good look at their faces because I was so angry and disgusted that these children said such a rude thing to me.

Now here's where the open letter to their parents comes in.

Parents of these despicable human beings,

Where the hell were you to raise your children not to be so disgusting? You should be ashamed of yourselves that you've raised these sexist, misogynist little rats that think it's okay to openly ask a female stranger for sexual favors. What did you do to them or say to them when they were young to make them think this is okay?

Shame on you.

I don't know you, and honestly, I don't ever want to know you. But I want you to hear what I'm saying and pay attention to how much you screwed up. You had a chance to raise some really great kids, teach them to be gentlemen, guide them down a path where they'd be doing good things, not harming young women like myself. But instead, you ignored that awesome and super easy opportunity. I hate to say it, but unfortunately I have a feeling I'm not the first or last woman they will openly ask sexual favors for on the street.

This is rude, unwanted, and unacceptable.

Instead of saying nothing and hiding under a rock, I'm being a voice for the women that this has happened to. Sure, the situation could have been worse, and I'm glad it wasn't. But in no way am I going to let this be played down. Asking a woman for sexual favors the way they did (they don't even know me!!!!!!) is not okay.

So parents of these awful kids, you owe it to yourself to take a look in the mirror and say to yourself, "I f***ed up," because you did - BIG TIME.
