Amazon is drunk with anticipation, as this week the Internet giant officially launched its new wine marketplace—a feat far easier to conceptualize than to implement, due to all the regulations surrounding online alcohol sales.

The world’s largest online retailer now sells more than 1,000 wines, spanning wineries all across the continental United States and including popular brands like Francis Ford Coppola, Eden Canyon and Roadhouse.

According to the website, as many as six bottles of wine can be shipped to California, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming and the District of Columbia for just under $10. Don’t see your state on the list? Amazon says to keep checking back, as the company plans to add more states soon.

This is Amazon’s second attempt at wielding an online wine marketplace since having to suspend their plans a few years ago because of tricky regulations with the sale and delivery of alcohol across state lines. Amazon hopes to compete with other online wine retailers like Wine.com, which also launched a new Web marketplace earlier this week.
