A teen caught urinating next to his car led Boulder County Deputies on an overnight chase which ended in a crash. Deputies say they saw 18-year-old Jonathon Hernandez-Cervantez of Boulder relieving himself just after midnight Monday at the entrance of the San Lazaro Community.

When a deputy stopped to question the alleged public urinator, he got into the car and started the engine. A passenger in the vehicle made a furtive movement, which caused the deputy to believe he had a firearm. The deputy issued more commands, which were ignored, and the vehicle fled. The pursuit ended when the teen crashed his car. There were no serious injuries after the crash.

Hernandez-Cervantez was booked into the Boulder County Jail on eluding and DUI charges. The investigation into the incident and what caused the men to flee from the deputy continues.
