Looks like Poudre School District staff and students are getting a four-day Labor Day weekend. A message posted to the PSD website this morning says that all schools, including B.A.S.E. camp will be closed tomorrow due to high temperatures.

Here is the message header:

ALL PSD schools will be closed tomorrow, Friday, August 30 for heat. This includes B.A.S.E. Camp.

All scheduled athletics and after-school events/activities WILL TAKE PLACE as planned.

You can read more about why they made the decision and get more details on the PSD site.

I've heard of "snow days", but the is the first "heat day" I've ever heard of around here.

Good call by the district? I can guarantee most students think so.

The NOAA forecast is calling for a high of 93 today and 95 tomorrow.

I can see snow cones in ice cream in my near-future...
