Roses are red, violets are blue.

Valentine's Day is near, so what's a guy to do?

If your lady-love likes lavish dinners, Fort Collins and Northern Colorado offer quite a few options. From the stripped down and simple to the elegant and fancy, if you are into a V-day dinner, here are some ideas.

1. The Melting Pot

It's hard to beat the Melting Pot when it comes to romance. Or bromance. Whatever the 'mance, fondue is the ultimate at creating heartfelt moments.

Of all the restaurants where couples are engaged, I think the Melting Pot has to lead the way. They've got very special packages for that occasion, and for all others, but get your reservations soon, because they'll fill up quickly.

2. Jay's Bistro

It's a Fort Collins original. And the Chocolate Raviolis are to die for. I've also made sensual sounds after biting into their Bison Carpaccio and Flame Grilled Filet.

Plus the staff is beyond professional. Want to feel like you are really special? Try Jay's.

3. Chimney Park

This restaurant will make you remember how cute and quaint Windsor is. Plus, they obsess over quality cuisine. They've featured the same chef, location and dedication to curling your toes for years, and are a great choice for Valentine's Day.

4. 4th Street Chophouse

Another town in Northern Colorado, another quaint downtown. We're world leaders in this department.

The 4th Street Chophouse has been serving up savory slices of beef and game for years. The atmosphere is classy, but, like almost all of these restaurants, if you show up in semi-casual clothing, you'll fit right in.

5. Bisetti's

Where else can you find a delicious entree in Old Town for under $15? Well, in numerous places, but not many of them will have the history that Bisetti's does.

Click here for a video and interview with owner Robert Bisetti about what Old Town was like before it was Old Town.

It's an old school east coast style Italian kitchen that has evolved with Old Town over the decades, and is a perfect choice for Valentine's Day.
