10 Memorable Yogi-isms to Celebrate the Life of Yogi Berra
Yogi Berra was much more than just a famous baseball player for the New York Yankees. While he had unmatched talent behind the plate and the amazing ability to lead teams to victories while coaching and managing from the bench, he was also a witty and lovable cultural figure that many looked up to and still consider to be a role model.
Sadly, Yogi Berra passed away from natural causes on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the age of 90 years old. Fans of the game will always be able to revisit the legendary catcher's decorated past and important achievements at the Baseball Hall of Fame, but we can also keep his character alive by remembering and using some of his most memorable tidbits of wisdom, also called "Yogi-isms," within our own lives. Having dropped out of school after eighth grade to help support his family, it's understandable that Yogi might not have gotten a full education of the English language, thus resulting in his creative formation of unique quotes and words to live by. Still, there's a lot of wisdom to be found in his short Yogi-isms, and it's apparent that he was one talented and knowledgeable man that still inspires people to this day, while also making them smile.
